Badass poster for sure!

BTW maybe the color line was hard and fast in the movies, but I think these days people know more about it than they were shown. At least in the US anyway.

yeah that's pretty much the reason I read the book - it's also interesting from the perspective of wikipedia: lots and lots of people doing a little bit to improve things rather than one lone genius locked away in a room. Be interested to see what you write about the Lisa Carver book!

"The Wisdom of Crowds"

That sounds interesting. I'm trying to improve my drawing skills at the minute and I know they'll come on hugely if I get to a class as opposed to learning on my own. Ties in a lot with "magical learning" for me, which is one of the places that the myth of the "cold hard black" Will driven individual rears it's ugly head - Crowley and all that crap. I find all the stuff Phil has written about groups, and the social networks and relationships that support things like Tantra (gurus and lineages and so forth) really interesting in this regard, as they run totally counter to that.

BTW that "Drugs are Nice" is an amazing read. Am going to write a review of it myself. Great book.

Yeah it's a bit frustrating to put it mildly. I've only read that one in the series and I imagine they vary a great deal. I'm looking forward to the one on "36 Chambers" which apparently is being done by Skiz from Wordsound. Somebody we know is doing one which will be wicked. Otherwise I can't really be arsed. I think it's a case of "writer I like plus album I like = check it out".

And it never occurred to Drew Daniel to take him up on this statement? Christ, what a load of fawning, unchallenging shit. I haven't read any of these 33.3 books, are there any good, far out ones? I mean, completely unlike typical muso guides. Someone wrote one on "Rum Sodomy and the Lash" by the Pogues, but I'm not sure I want to read it in case it's boring.
