He arrived to study economics and anthropology at London University. When his studies were over he entered the film industry, working for a documentary company as Assistant Editor with directors like Karel Reisz and Lindsay Anderson. Moving into camera work Losey worked as an assistant on the films \u2018Tom Jones\u2019, \u2018The Girl with Green Eyes\u2019 and \u2018The Uncle\u2019 amongst many others. Later he joined Granada TV\u2019s \u2018World in Action\u2019 team as a cameraman covering current affairs in the world\u2019s trouble spots.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">From cameraman to assistant directing and on to the production side he then worked as Production Manager on \u2018Thirty is a Dangerous Age\u2019, \u2018Cynthia\u2019, \u2018Robbery\u2019, Lindsay Anderson\u2019s \u2018If\u2019, Tony Richardson\u2019s \u2018Hamlet\u2019, \u2018Laughter in the Dark\u2019 and \u2018Ned Kelly\u2019, filmed in Australia with Mick Jagger. He was Production Controller for the Beatles on \u2018Magical Mystery Tour\u2019, for EMI on \u2018Villain\u2019 starring Richard Burton and on Alistair MacLean\u2019s \u2018Fear is the Key\u2019. In March 1970 he joined forces with David Puttnam and Sandy Lieberson at VPS\/Goodtime Enterprises as Associate Producer and Producer; his credits included \u2018Melody\u2019, \u2018Pied Piper\u2019, That\u2019ll Be The Day\u2019, \u2018Stardust\u2019 and \u2018Flame\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">He also produced \u2018Little Malcolm\u2019 for Apple Films which won major awards at Berlin and Atlanta, was Production Consultant on \u2018The Greek Tycoon\u2019 and produced \u2018Agatha\u2019 for Warner Bros.\/First Artists with Vanessa Redgrave and Dustin Hoffman. He spent a year developing the package of Gerald Durrell\u2019s \u2018My Family and Other Animals\u2019 with Allen Klein\u2019s Abkco Group and then produced \u2018Babylon\u2019, the black youth music movie for release soon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Losey has formed a partnership with the writer Gordon Williams to develop films from original ideas and from the wealth of material already written by Williams including the book from which the film \u2018Straw Dogs\u2019 and the \u2018Hazell\u2019 books.
