“[…] I remember, years ago, going to see Jah Shaka and thinking that he was absolutely amazing with all the homemade equipment he had and the sheer inventiveness. It was really inspiring and has stayed with me ever since. I was yelling in the studio, stupid with excitement. ‘Get those ‘boings’ up’!” – Alison Goldfrapp

“J.L.A. is a website for those people who are obsessed with Caribbean music and the artwork and design of the labels on the vinyl reproductions of that music. It doesn’t matter if those labels are on recordings of Jamaican music released in the U.S.A., or indeed Trini Calypso released in the U.K. It’s all the same to us!”

Solution Sound System

Solution Sound System finally get themselves a website shock horror! Some nice photos and audio, and a great way of keeping up to date with forthcoming shows. Unfortunately I can’t make the Finsbury Park date but I would definitely recommend it – the chance to see Dougie Wardrop in action is not one to pass up.

Stoke Fest 2006 postponed because Hackney Council are so rubbish they couldn’t send a letter off to apply for a licence in time shock horror!
