{"id":1163,"date":"2008-01-04T20:35:39","date_gmt":"2008-01-04T19:35:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uncarved.org\/blog\/?p=1163"},"modified":"2008-01-04T20:35:39","modified_gmt":"2008-01-04T19:35:39","slug":"farewell-woebot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uncarved.org\/blog\/2008\/01\/farewell-woebot\/","title":{"rendered":"Farewell Woebot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.woebot.com\/2008\/01\/farewell.html\">WOEBOT: Farewell<\/a><\/p>\n<p>So it&#8217;s goodbye to Woebot &#8211; no more of them massive posts with huge amounts of scans and even more great comment, no more hugely ambitious projects like woebot.tv and well, all that.<\/p>\n<p>I think it&#8217;s fair to say that in our little corner of the web a lot of people had been reading Simon Reynolds&#8217; site, and then blog, but it was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.woebot.com\/movabletype\/archives\/000816.html\">TWANBOC<\/a> that played the bigger part in showing people they could do it themselves &#8211; Woebot just seemed a bit more accessible in some ways and proudly amateur in the sense of not being a paid journo \/ published author.<\/p>\n<p>In his usual style, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.woebot.com\/movabletype\/archives\/000805.html\">Paul Meme weighed in early with an arsey email<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The various interblog posts which followed from Heronbone, K-Punk, silverdollarcircle, gutterbreakz, the original soundtrack, skykicking (and my and Paul&#8217;s efforts) were in retrospect golden times for me and t&#8217;internet.
