{"id":2771,"date":"2009-10-16T22:29:09","date_gmt":"2009-10-16T21:29:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uncarved.org\/blog\/?p=2771"},"modified":"2009-10-16T22:29:09","modified_gmt":"2009-10-16T21:29:09","slug":"shop-local","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uncarved.org\/blog\/2009\/10\/shop-local\/","title":{"rendered":"shop local"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Of course one thing that us music nerds can do <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uncarved.org\/blog\/2009\/10\/granny-smith-doesnt-matter-any-more\/\" target=\"_blank\">during the postal strike<\/a> is to support local independent record shops &#8211; while there still are any.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m quite lucky in that respect &#8211; weeks after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uncarved.org\/blog\/2009\/09\/hackney-council-vs-banksy\/\" target=\"_blank\">me moaning on here about the increasing uselessness of Stoke Newington Church Street<\/a>, a new record shop opens up there:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uncarved.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/lucky7.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2772\" title=\"lucky7\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uncarved.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/lucky7.jpg\" alt=\"lucky7\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and it&#8217;s proper, you know? A nice feel, friendly staff who are happy to chat, prices are reasonable, listening decks, all that.<\/p>\n<p>They now stock <em>Woofah<\/em> and were very enthusiastic about it (a true sign of excellence, of course!)<\/p>\n<p>Check them out and have a rummage while you are there &#8211; ask about their &#8220;reggae mondays&#8221; (I&#8217;ve not made one of these yet&#8230;)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Of course one thing that us music nerds can do during the postal strike is to support local independent record shops &#8211; while there still are any.
