Since installing it about a year ago, this little critter has stopped 20,282 spam comments from appearing on this blog.<\/p>\n<p>10,000 of these were in the last two weeks, so this is not something which has passed its sell-by date.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uncarved.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/06\/akismet-nigel.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6049\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uncarved.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/06\/akismet-nigel.png\" alt=\"akismet-nigel\" width=\"80\" height=\"15\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Akimset is free to download for personal use and now comes bundled with wordpress, but it works with <a href=\"http:\/\/akismet.com\/development\/\">a number of other things<\/a> as well.
